Resolved Question: Film Festival ideas please?
I am entering a film festival but i need a good idea for a film, i want to make either a comedy or a horror, please help me with ideas. Thanks moreResolved Question: Manchester entertainment. Any ideas whats going on in july/aug?
Any links to festivals or comedy shows or theatre or going out or restaurants in city centre? Thanks. moreResolved Question: Can anyone give advice for an Edinburgh Festival Newbie?
Hi all! I want to go to the Edinburgh Festival for the first time but im not really sure about the best way to do things. My friend said that the first weekend is good as there tends to be lots of offers on so it would make it cheaper at least. I'm slightly worried that it wont be in full swing then. Would it be better to go in the second weekend then? (the weekend of the 14th august) Should we book the accomodation first and then worry about the shows later? What is the best way to find out about the shows that we want to see- im particularly interested in the comedy but would like a range. Ive heard nothing but good things about the festival and would love to catch an act that does well here before they get big! Cheers! moreResolved Question: when do the edinburgh comedy festival dates come out?
like the actual shows themselves? moreResolved Question: Where can I get comedian posters and programs?
Hi! Last October (maybe November?), I went to see Alan Carr performing for the gala evening in aid of Sussex beacon, and Andy Parsons in the Brighton Paramount Comedy festival, and now a few months later, I wish i had purchased the festival programs or posters, or anything really, like I did when i went to see Jimmy Carr in Brighton yesterday. Does anyone know where I can buy them, considering I cannot find them on ebay? moreResolved Question: Help with GCSE Classical Civilisation revision?
I was just wondering if you could help me out here because I have a ClasCiv. test at school on Wednesday and I've only just realised that I've left my books at school over the holidays (we go back on Wednesday, the day of my test) and I was just wondering if you could help me out with some key facts to help jolt my memory. The test will be on the Festival of Dionysus and Greek Theatre. Here's some things I already know, just to prove I'm not being a lazy so and so! *Dionysus was the God of drama and art *There were three types of plays; tragedies, comedies and satyrs *Satyrs were performed after a tradgedy to lighten the mood *They had competitions of dancing, singing and choruses (led by the choregos) *They had a revolving door on the stage called an ekuclema (<--spelling?) Has anyone else got anymore key facts for me? Preferably on Greek Theatre since I did that the least recent at school. Many Thanks for you help! :) moreResolved Question: Film festival help for school?
This 11 year old boy i know is having a film festival at his school he wants ideas he wants a comedy (not too childish) a spoof or a documentary he had an idea of doing a punk rocker documentary spoof, so something along those lines if you want more detail just say so okay thanks for your time bye! moreResolved Question: Did any of you go to the Edinburgh festival this year?
Did you go to any comedy shows or did you just watch the street performers? that annoyed me when I lived in edinburgh that everything got really expensinve and it was impossible to get into some places. Did any of you see Adrew Lawrence or Rich Hall at Pleasance courtyard. moreResolved Question: I just wondered real bad how this woman does the handkercheif trick? Any thoughts how she does it?
If you don't like seeing naked women then don't watch the trick cause the woman in the vid ends up naked. She removes her clothes as she makes the handkerchief dissapear so you can see she isn't hiding it on her person. I can't see how she could be hiding the hanky on herself nor does it appear to go onto the stage. BEWARE NUDITY IF YOU CLICK ON THE LINK! http://www.webtvhub.com/nude-magician-video-ursula-martinez-at-the-montreal-comedy-festival/ HOW does she do it!??! It's impossible to tell where the hanky is after she makes it vanish. Where did it go? moreResolved Question: Whats happening in Edinburgh on Friday 25th?
My sisters are going to see Girls Aloud at edinburgh Castle on Fri 25th with my mum, so my dad, little brother and i are looking for something to see/do in the evening. Whats on in the way of comedy, music, performances, shows or festivals to go to on Friday 25th? moreResolved Question: confused!!?
if you were to ask me what sterotype i am, before a week ago i would have said girly all the way! i love pink! im 15 and love make up, singing, dancing... but i also love comedy and laughin, thats where the mighty boosh come in, i absolutely love them!! lol so, anyway, i went to the mighty boosh festival last saturday, and it totally opened my eyes to another world! i always knew it was there, i just hadnt thought about it, that world is, um well im not sure what its called, if you know what the cast of the mighty boosh are like while not filming you'll understand, i watched robots in disguise preform on the stage and i thought to myself, this is sooo what i would love to do! bty, robots in disguise are an electro girl band. and now i really want to learn the electric gutair! but my problem is, i know im still young, but ive always seen my future as i will go to college and university, get married and have children and be mature for my age and it would make me really happy but now im torn between that world and the world of electro music drugs and sex (i mean when im older!) which i feel i must try, as i want a life before i do anything serious, but im just confused.lol moreResolved Question: Are you going to the Edinburg Festival this year?
THE FRINGE I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat. Cats have nine lives. Which makes them ideal for experimentation. The right to bear arms is slightly less ludicrous than the right to arm bears. My dad is Irish and my mum is Iranian, which meant that we spent most of our family holidays in Customs. The dodo died. Then Dodi died, Di died and Dando died... Dido must be shitting herself. Is it fair to say that there'd be less litter in Britain if blind people were given pointed sticks? You have to remember all the trivia that your girlfriend tells you, because eventually you get tested. She'll go 'What's my favourite flower?', and you murmur to yourself 'Sh*t, I wasn't listening - self-raising?'. I saw that show '50 Things To Do Before You Die'. I would have thought the obvious one was Shout For Help!! Got a phone call today to do a gig at a fire station. Went along. Turned out it was a bloody hoax. Employee of the month is a good example of how somebody can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. A dog goes into a hardware store and says 'I'd like a job please'. The hardware store owner says 'We don't hire dogs, why don't you go join the circus?' The dog replies 'What would the circus want with a plumber'. I like to go into the Body Shop and shout out really loud 'I've already got one!'. It's easy to distract fat people. In fact it's a piece of cake. I enjoy using the comedy technique of self-deprecation - but I'm not very good at it. If you're being chased by a police dog, try not to go through a tunnel, then on to a little seesaw, then jump through a hoop of fire. They're trained for that. moreResolved Question: is it true that Ken Ham is doing a performance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival?
Do you think his 'Fringe' kind of Comedy Act will be well received? moreResolved Question: Is it possible to get a dvd copy of Doug Stanhopes' comedy set from this years' Edinburgh comedy festival?
moreResolved Question: Jihad The Musical?
One of the Items for this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the aforementioned comedy featuring songs such as "I Wanna be like Osama". There has been a call for it to be banned and this is before it has even been shown. I personally think the PC brigade are at it again and that they should be banned, What do you think about things like this.? moreResolved Question: What would you do if your boyfriend left you all night at a festival to sleep alone in a tent?
my boyfriend (5 years) and hs friend and I were having a great time at a festival watching bands, taking photos, beer etc. We decided to go to the comedy tent. All agreed to go. There was not a lot of space to sit but our friend decided to sit on the left. I found a space to the right and my boyfriend chose to stand at the back. We could all see each other . Enjoying the comedy after about 25 minutes we turned around and my boyfriend had gone. Our friend was staying in a hotel and I told him not to worry although he did kindly offer to stick around with me. We tried ringing my boyfriend and he ignored both our calls. It was dark and raining and my boyfriend new that I did not know where his tent was. I had set one of my own tents up earlier because I thought my sister was coming but I got completely lost with the thousands of tents and ended up having to spend it in the St johns ambulance tent, When they rang him he said he was in bed and was reluctant to come out.. moreResolved Question: Is Simon Anstil good at comedy standup?
I was thinking of getting tickets to see Simon Anstil do a 1 hr comedy show at the Edinburgh festival. I always find him funny on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and when he used to interview the music stars. Has anyone seen him live or do standup on DVD or anything? Would you recommend him? moreResolved Question: Edinburgh Festival question...?

Are There Any Courses (University/College/Learn Direct/Open University/Etc) I Could Take, So As To Put On CV, For Example? OR Should I Dive Straight Into The Deep End, And Start As Stand-Up, And If So....Where To Start? And How Do I Go About Asking For A Spot On A Lineup(EG: In A Seedy Club, Local Pub, High Class Venue, Or Straight To The Fringe Festival?) (SOZ IF THAT WAS TOO LONG FOR YA! LOL THAT'S ALWAYS MY PROBLEM!) (NOT ONE OF MY BETTER JOKES!) Thanks!!! :D moreResolved Question: La Singe et dans L'Arbre - Eddie Izzard?
Can anyone help? I'm looking for a video clip of this classic Eddie Izzard original performance. I think it was from the Montreal Comedy Festival but I'm not sure. It seems to have only been shown on TV once (years ago). I've trawled the internet but can't find it anywhere. Serious answers from Izzard fans would be appreciated. It's not on YouTube! It is NOT the clip from Dress to Kill. I'm after the original performance of the monkey is in the tree (not the revised and pretty weak monkey is on the branch which appears on YouTube) moreResolved Question: Edinburgh Festival-what comedy shows have you seen that were funny-be honest?
